“A thought-provoking book.” This was former leader of the Labour Party, Neil Kinnock’s reaction to a book written by a former Tenterden student.

Dr Stuart Thomson, who went to Homewood School before studying economics and politics at the University of Aberdeen, is the co-writer of New Activism and the Corporate Response, published by Palgrave Macmillan.

In it, he claims that businesses could be threatened by small activist groups. “New activism is of growing importance to businesses and they ignore it at their peril,” he said.

Dr Thomson is a public affairs and communications consultant with the government relations practice, DLA Upstream, part of the international law firm, DLA.
